PowerRename's filter option should persist between sessions. #21091

Description of the new feature / enhancement

On times that I only need a couple of files renamed out of thousands of files on the same directory, the "Only show files that will be renamed" filter option is something I always toggle whenever I do so. I find it really odd that it is the only setting that does not persist on each rename session.

I also think it would be nice if the filter option be placed on the left pane as a checkbox for better visibility and accessibility. As toggling that setting currently requires 2 clicks which I found unnecessarily cumbersome.

If that is not possible, a default filter option located on the PowerToys settings would be also appreciated.

Scenario when this would be used?

Every time you're renaming batches of files and you only want to see the files that will be renamed.

+1 - Specifically:

  1. remember filter choice across sessions
  2. place 'Show files / only files to be renamed' to the left with other options - I used the app dozens of times before realising this option was 'hidden' beneath the filter icon
