Worked for me again after a reboot.

Same issue with Release v0.65.0 - got only yellow borders around monitor screen. Also WhatsUp Desktop App did not come up again (gray window). Tried to switch of features but did not help. Deinstalled Power Toys and Snipping Tool and WhatsUp worked again. What a pitty!

This is still an issue w/ PowerToys v0.66.0 and MS Version 10.0.22000.1335. Opening the snipping tool and clicking 'new' just displays a mouse spinning circle then nothing launches. Using the shortcut (WIN + Shift + S) does the same spinning circle then nothing.

This is the error in event viewer:

I'm experiencing this same issue too. Snipping Tool will work after a restart until I use PowerToys. After using PowerToys (specifically Screen Ruler) Snipping Tool will no longer work. I'm using PowerToys v0.68.1 on Windows 11 Home v 22H2 Build 22621.1413. Considering I installed PowerToys for the Screen Ruler so I could properly size my windows before taking a screen shot this is a big issue.

I have same issue, and it also happened after using screen ruler (that's the only power toy I use TBH). Win11, PowerToys v0.71.0

bearoxo commented 11 months ago

For now, you can end ScreenClippingHost.exe process on the task manager for the snipping tool to work again.
