5 months ago Same probem here, when a file or folder on a network share is open on another machine, the results are empty, but the file/folder ist still locked. You need to guess the machine first and run FileLockSmith there. Not very practical. However, there is an alternative for this case: https://superuser.com/a/783961/154041
Description of the new feature / enhancement
If this is possible, enhance the utility to be able to sense what files are in use and by which processes on files contained in network shares.
Scenario when this would be used?
As an I.T. Administrator I frequently need to edit or move files that are located on a server and find that they are open and in use. Installing PowerToys on each server is not practical for me and having this ability would greatly simplify doing my job.
