Hi there!

We need a bit more information to really debug this issue. Can you add a "Report Bug" zip file here? You right click on our system tray icon and just go to report bug. Then drag the zipfile from your desktop onto the GitHub comment box in this issue. Thanks!

Also, @zhoufan9747 @Mooongi how did you install v71? By auto-update, running PowerToys installer manually or some other way? Thanks

For me, it's the first install on this PC

stefansjfw commented 1 year ago

Can you open bug report .zip and copy the content of registry-report-info.txt file here ?

Mooongi commented 1 year ago

registry-report-info.txt

stefansjfw commented 1 year ago

Hm, that one is empty. It shouldn't be. Can you check if following registry key exists HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{51B4D7E5-7568-4234-B4BB-47FB3C016A69}\InprocServer32 ? And what is the value there? /needinfo

PowerToysReport_2023-09-02-08-12-58.zip Same issue v73 - first install via downloaded release (PowerToysUserSetup-0.73.0-x64.exe). Running as admin. Confirmed the presence of the DLL referenced in the registry. Tried reboot, tried updating settings, tried shift+right click, tried disabling/enabling. Nothing worked. Report attached. You'll see in the report that I eventually disabled PowerRename as a final troubleshooting step to focus on ImageResizer, but the problem existed for both. I just uninstalled the per-user version and installed the machine-wide version, and the options were immediately available.

copycatcode commented 11 months ago

I had the same problem. I'm not sure if I had the per-user version installed before, but after installing the machine-wide version, I see the power rename, locksmith menu.

Jay-o-Way commented 7 months ago

[!IMPORTANT] Installing PowerToys with methods other than the installer from Github may not register the context menu shell extensions.

Same issue - no Image Resizer or PowerName context option on right click. As stated above by btbaxter, uninstalled ver 0.82.1, downloaded and reinstalled using the "Machine - wide x.64" file. Worked immediately. I've been Googling for the last 2 hours until i found btbaxter's reply. Tried it and it worked beautifully. Thanx btbaxter!!!
