Ruler pixel measurement seems off when win10 is using zoomed desktop #31526

Microsoft PowerToys version

0.78

Installation method

Microsoft Store

Running as admin

Yes

Area(s) with issue?

Screen ruler

Steps to reproduce

Opera or Chrome... ummm, display is 1920 x 1080 one a 4k TV. zoom are all at default or recommened settings (150% i think). I was trying to size my webpage images by measuring the dimensions as they appear in the broswer, and resizing the images to what powertoys screen ruler was reporting. maybe i need to apply some math, but i think the desktop zoom made the ruler report the image larger than it really was.

✔️ Expected Behavior

I was expecting powertoys to allieviate all of my pet peeves and disappointments over the years with windows, and address some shortcomings and introduce handy new tools that you wouldn't want to live without. and you guys have done nearly just that. awesome... you can pry powertoys from my cold dead mouse hand. thanks a bunch.

❌ Actual Behavior

No response

Other Software

Screen Ruler should show the actual pixels, not scaled. Do you have some more numbers so we can more accurately see what's going on? Like image size and reported size, screen dpi etc.

my display is 1920 x 1080 @ 150 zoom on a 4k TV over HDMI.

very well could be my shortcoming in understanding, but i was trying to size images for my website to make page insights happy about image size and dimension. i figured i would pull up the page in opera or chrome at 100% zoom, and then measure the dimensions of the image... and that never seemed to work out. always too large i think.

so if i measure the bounds of say the first image in the left column i get roughly 812 x 387 https://platinumvisions.com/about/ so i resize my image to those dimensions, and it comes out still bigger than what i need? roughly 1/2 again as big as i need. So my brain said, hey...that's what your zoom setting is in windows display properties. I thought i was being so smart... maybe i'm missing something.
