Description of the new feature / enhancement
I’ve been utilizing the FancyZones feature within PowerToys and have found it to be a significant enhancement to my workflow. However, I’ve observed that unlike the Windows default window manager, FancyZones displays small gaps between the windows when they are snapped into zones. Additionally, the Windows manager offers a ‘group’ option that allows users to manage grouped windows together, which is currently absent in FancyZones. Incorporating a similar group option and eliminating the gaps would provide a seamless and cohesive user experience, closely mirroring the native Windows functionality.
Scenario when this would be used?
The gapless snapping and group management would be indispensable for users who frequently multitask with various applications and require a streamlined workspace. It would also benefit users who engage in screen recording or sharing by offering a neater, more professional visual presentation without the interruption of gaps or the hassle of managing windows individually.
Supporting information
The addition of a group option would elevate the user experience by allowing for easier manipulation of window layouts, especially when dealing with multiple windows. The removal of gaps would enhance the visual continuity, making FancyZones not only a match for the default Windows experience but also a superior alternative with its advanced customization capabilities.
