Steps to reproduce

Problem Statement: After restarting the PC, the Fancy Zones configuration for two of the six connected monitors changes unexpectedly. Specifically, the zone settings for Screen 2 always move to Screen 4, while Screen 3 retains its configuration.

Steps to Reproduce:

Connect six monitors to the PC. Configure Fancy Zones on Screen 2 and Screen 3. Restart the PC. Observe the Fancy Zones configuration. Expected Behavior:

Screen 2 and Screen 3 should retain their Fancy Zones settings after a restart. Actual Behavior:

Screen 3 retains its Fancy Zones settings. Screen 2’s Fancy Zones settings move to Screen 4 after a restart. System Configuration:

Number of monitors: 6 Operating System: [Specify OS version] Fancy Zones version: [Specify version] Steps Taken to Troubleshoot:

Verified all monitors are correctly connected. Checked and updated graphics card drivers. Reconfigured Fancy Zones settings before restarting.

✔️ Expected Behavior

Screen 2 and Screen 3 should retain their Fancy Zones settings after a restart.

❌ Actual Behavior

Screen 3 retains its Fancy Zones settings. Screen 2’s Fancy Zones settings move to Screen 4 after a restart.

@insidertradingai Thank you for the report! I've looked into it and noticed differences in monitor IDs and serial numbers on initialization. I'd like to clarify: did you reconnect or reposition monitors? /needinfo

Sorry for being unclear. By reconnection, I meant did you unplug and plug back your monitors?

No, unfortunately, that won't help. I was trying to identify the reason for the issue. It seems the problem is related to the serial numbers of the monitors. I'll investigate further.

I still haven't found a solution and the problem persists. Should I Uninstall and Reinstall PowerToys?

Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
