Can you try downloading the installer (https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys/releases) for your version (Try using PowerToysSetup and if this doesn't work PowerToysUserSetup). This should give you an option to uninstall. Please tell me if it works. /needinfo

I currently have version 0.79.0 installed . i tried both the above methods (powertoys_setup X64 & powertoys_user_setup X64), but when i clicked on the executable file, i got this same error

that is .... interesting.

To unblock, i'd suggest going into settings and manually uninstall. then reinstall.

@AI-ApeX-DeV Are you using more than one OS account locally?

its not getting uninstalled in any way. i tried through settings first, then command prompt, then powershell as administrator, downloaded the same version as installed on my machine(0.79.0) and tried to install it , but always i got the same error

Could you check which user has installed PowerToysUser version?

Try logging into the user which does NOT have PowerToysUser version and try to remove PowerToys per-machine version?

Does that help?
