Color picker open and close #34070

Description of the new feature / enhancement

The color picker is basically the only tool that I use on a fairly regular basis from power toys. I find myself wanting to open it faster - either an icon on the taskbar, or an icon in the task tray. The current experience is to click an icon in the task tray and then choose color picker. One step too many. If an option can be added on how it should be opened, like adding an icon directly to the system tray, that would be great.

Frustratingly, every time I pick a color and then hit the delete button or the escape button, the tool closes automatically. I'd like to ability to make it disappear with a key of my choice, or just by clicking the x in the top right corner. It would be great if this was added as a choice as well.

Scenario when this would be used?

The color picker is extremely handy, I use it quite a bit in testing items for accessibility color contrasts, and creating lists of colors.

For invocation, does the shortcut launching method of "Win + Shift + C" not work (you can also change the shortcut to any shortcut of your choice from the Color Picker settings page)?

You can view these settings by opening up PowerToys Settings > Color Picker

I also disagree with this behavior. Closing with Esc should be optional. Many times we want to keep the Color Picker open, but if in some tool we use Esc to close a popup, for example, then the Color Picker is closed first, then the popup that was the intention.

Review this type of user experience. Functionality is important, but let the user decide for this behavior.

My left arm is in a cast. But also, I view this tool as the only reason to use PowerToys, why not make it a first class citizen to invoke instead of "one choice of many even though it's the only choice you choose"?

This is very good, this should be an optional feature, in my particular case I would like that every time I select a color the window closes automatically when you put focus on another window, but of course it is for my particular use I use some of the color variants and then no longer use the popup window. example
