FancyZones forgets layout on reboot or monitor disconnect/reconnect #34923

Steps to reproduce

9/10 times this happens when rebooting or when a monitor is disconnected/reconnected.

✔️ Expected Behavior

The correct layout for the monitor should be remembered. When default vertical and horizontal templates are set these should be correctly selected.

❌ Actual Behavior

A random template is selected for each monitor rather than the previously selected template or the correct default for the vertical/horizontal monitor.

also experiencing this problem. I have four monitors and it remembers it on 1/4. Must reapply layouts after reboot.

For me, it switches layout from monitor 1 to monitor 2 after I turn on/off one of them. They are the same model but it only started happening recently.

I also get random layout changed error on 3 monitors.
