Microsoft PowerToys version

0.85.1

Installation method

Microsoft Store

Running as admin

Yes

Area(s) with issue?

Workspaces

Steps to reproduce

Trying to create a Workspace with the following three programs displayed: SQL Server Mgmt Studio 20, Visual Studio 2022, Notepad++

  1. I set up the above programs in my desired windows/settings
  2. I open Workspaces and select "Create Workspace"
  3. I select "Capture"
  4. It presents the "Create Workspace" screen with all the apps on "Screen 1" as well as the "Minimized Apps"
  5. However, under "Screen 1" it has Visual Studio 2022 as Visual Studio 2019
  6. If I save this workspace, close all my apps, and run the workspace, it opens Visual Studio 2019 instead of Visual Studio 2022

Please note:

Overview:

When creating a workspace, it is "seeing" the wrong program open. Instead of VS 2022, it "sees" it as VS 2019.

✔️ Expected Behavior

I am expecting the workspace to see the program running as VS 2022. As that is the open program.

❌ Actual Behavior

The workspace sees VS 2022 as VS 2019. And when I run the workspace, it does in fact open VS 2019.

Other Software

Microsoft Visual Studio Enterprise 2022 (Version 17.11.5) Microsoft Visual Studio Enterprise 2019 (Version 16.11.41) OS: Windows 10 Enterprise
