My project, "Medical Document Scanner," is a Function App API that leverages multiple resources, including Document Intelligence and OpenAI. The API is designed to extract data in XML or JSON format, facilitating system-to-system communication.
For instance, a mobile app can use this API to extract data from a PDF or capture it via a camera. The API then converts the provided data into integration messages in XML or JSON format. Developers can specify the document type in the POST request header, choosing from 'Referral', 'Prescription', or 'General', as detailed in the UI link shared at the end of this description. This allows for precise output based on the document type.
The UI created serves as a demonstration of how the API works, showcasing its capability to gather information from documents and convert it into XML or JSON. The primary purpose of this API is to enable rapid processing of documents where backend integration is required, such as for patient registration or prescription details sent to a pharmacy. This streamlines data extraction from a mobile app to an HR system, making the process faster.
UI that consumes API demo URL: https://ambitious-field-0f28c6c0f.5.azurestaticapps.net
Additionally, user prompts can be used to modify or correct the data, as the API is capable of accommodating corrections as needed.
