Did you ever make any progress on this?
Latest VS 2022 comes with Solarized Dark out of the box, so get rid of the extension, select from options & you're good to go! 😉
For those of us stuck with VS2019, you can change the CommonControls.TextBoxBackground
color using the old Color Theme Editor (or the new Theme Designer) to something more Solarized. I suggest FF003847
.
I did not manage to find how to change the dark Tab text nor the purple Tab hover, but I can live with that. It was harder to tolerate the unreadable textbox.
While I appreciate your efforts & findings, I'm pretty much the opposite regarding being (forced to) stuck with 2019 - nobody should interfere with software engineers demanding the latest VS release. Nobody. Ever.
Several issues:
I can take a swing at a fix if you could let me know what elements should I be looking for in the theme editor.
