Does it remain high after a few minutes or does it slowly recover? If you could paste the list from "adb shell top" it would be helpful to see what else is going on in the system.
Filing a feedback hub report with the recreate my issue option to take a trace would be the most useful thing here.
After I installed a large 3D game apk, the memory usage is very high, and the memory usage will not decrease after more than ten minutes. Screenshot below
Where did you get the kernel from? I have a suspicion that it's missing a critical patch for memory management on WSA. I'll try to repro locally to see if it happens on the stock kernel.
thanks. This is the WSA kernel version
Okay, the reason I ask is because adbd is running as root and that indicates an unofficial/modified kernel.
we meet same bug, pls fix it ASAP.

Is this on the official kernel or a modified one? I haven't managed to get a repro on the stock kernel downloaded from the Microsoft Store so far.
If you have reliable repro steps that would be appreciated as well.
official kernel

Thanks for the app, I'm able to reproduce the issue. We'll definitely take a look at what we can do about the cache but from measuring actual impact, I'm not seeing significant extra pressure on the Windows host and the caches are freed as lmk needs.
Are you seeing functional or performance related issues in your apps as a result of the caching? E.g. do frame rates drop in a boot session where you "adb install"-ed and have the extra cache, vs. starting the app on a clean boot without the install? Just trying to gauge the impact other than the reporting.
Thanks. If the host memory is only 8GB, running wsa will get stuck. What is the minimum memory for wsa to run smoothly.
I'm not able to reproduce this on 2304. If you still can please file a new feedback hub with the repro.
Steps to reproduce
I use wsa to play the Honor of Kings, and after playing for a while, I quit. It is found that the memory usage on the windows side is high, and then look at the internal cached kernel usage of android is also very high, as shown in the figure below
✔️ Expected Behavior
Allow wsa memory usage to be dynamically scaled, it is best to use Hyper-V balloon memory driver to take effect
❌ Actual Behavior
None
Other Software
No response
Please specify the version of Windows Subsystem for Android
