WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x80070050 #12304

Repro Steps

I was trying to open my Ubuntu terminal when I ran into this error: Installing, this may take a few minutes... WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x80070050 Error: 0x80070050 The file exists.

Press any key to continue...

[process exited with code 1 (0x00000001)] You can now close this terminal with Ctrl+D, or press Enter to restart.

I do not know how but when I check Linux in my file explorer, it no longer shows any Ubuntu version inside the folder.

Expected Behavior

I was expecting to see it open normally as (base)@computername where (base) is the conda environment that it usually opens in.

Actual Behavior

I run into the error described before and I cannot even open Ubuntu.
