XCode 12.5 Support critical due to Visual Studio stable update #2185

Describe the solution you'd like To be able to select XCode 12.5 for builds

Describe alternatives you've considered My VS for Mac updated without me realising it would require XCode 12.5 which would require updating MacOS to Big Sur. I looked for how to downgrade Xamarin.iOS to continue with XCode 12.4 and haven't found a good solution, or what version I should get. I have now upgraded my dev machine in hope and faith that you will add XCode 12.5 before I really need it. The only alternative is to find another CI/CD provider.

Hi all, apologies again for the delay. As frustrating as the state is, this was surely the biggest pain point for App Center team along with Azure Pipelines. The main reason was not technical or de-prioritizing the high demand feature, but related to licensing. We're sincerely sorry we couldn't communicate this clearly earlier.

Azure Pipelines made mac OS 11 generally available now, so I'm keeping my eyes on the engineering work progress from our end. I'll get back to this thread when the work is finally done. Appreciate your patience with us.

Xamarin iOS 14.6 work is in progress while the rest are successfully running in the production now. The build time stat looks better on this version, but we're monitoring.

Finally, Xamarin 14.16 is also added to the production as the last missing piece now. Thank you all once again for your understanding and being vocal in this matter. We don't take your feedback for granted.

Hi @wisdeom, thanks but I don't see any changes yet. Am I supposed to see something but not seeing it?

ankasani commented 3 years ago

Hi @cquanu , You should be able to see it by now. Could you please double-check it again?

cquanu commented 3 years ago

Yes @ankasani, I can see it now (a few mins ago it was still 12.4)

@cquanu I might have posted the comment a couple minutes ahead of the production building completion. My bad, I just had the urge to come here and share the news.

Is all good @wisdeom. Thanks.

Closing this as App Center Build now fully supports Xcode 12.5.

Oh great, congratulations to any internal heroes that got this done. Should we raise another issue for MacOS 12 now, so its ready when we need it? You can get the beta.

@buzzware, Looks like the other teams that need to work their magic before AppCenter can do theirs are aware of it.
