Stall at "Connecting to Server" opening estimate session

Hi, we have been having problems connecting to estimate sessions for a couple of months, but it seems to be failing more often now. Sometimes reconnecting helps, but i think we are probably making it worse by retrying constantly...

ADO instance on plugin version 2.3.89. Using Edge 120.0.2210.144.

Symptoms:

Opening a session the board shows message "Connecting to server" and stops. Error in Console: Access to XMLHttpRequest at 'https://msdevlabs-estimate-backend.azurewebsites.net//estimate/negotiate?sessionId=' from origin 'https://ms-devlabs.gallerycdn.vsassets.io' has been blocked by CORS policy: Response to preflight request doesn't pass access control check: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource.

Looking at the network request its failing with a 502 bad gateway. So the CORS is a red herring, its getting an error on the signalr negotiate.

Failed to load resource: https://extmgmt.dev.azure.com/cbre/_apis/ExtensionManagement/InstalledExtensions/ms-devlabs/estimate/Data/Scopes/Default/Current/Collections/sessions/Documents the server responded with a status of 404 ()

is what I get in the console followed by a bunch more but same behavior stuck on "Connection to server". We have updated to latest version.

Hi, some people are on VPNs, some are direct - I have seen it work and not work on both... There are some more error messages about trying to use a closed signalr connection - you could probably band aid this by catching the connection failure and retrying.

Hi, Yes, it happens sometimes. There is a similar issue already documented here, and we have added it to our backlog
