[CoE Starter Kit - BUG] Innovation Backlog -Adding 'Tools used' fails #6721

Open SPMush opened 1 year ago

SPMush commented 1 year ago

Does this bug already exist in our backlog?

Describe the issue

Issue when adding a Tool used to an idea. Adding a tool seems to work when creating a new Idea or editing an existing right up until the App is refreshed and reloaded, when newly added tools vanish from the idea and the Workflow.

I create an idea, add a tool used image

Then Save the new Tool and the Tool Appears as if added image

Proceeding through the stages of Idea creation I am then able to select the New tool used when creating inline workflow image

When the Idea is complete the new Tool used displays on the idea summary as expected image

However , if i refresh the Browser or close the app and relaunch the Tool used icon has gone. image

If i edit the Idea and go to Tools, the New used Tool is gone and does not exist in list of All tools. image

The new tool used is no longer available from the drop down in the inline workflow editor either image

Expected Behavior

When adding a new tool used, the tool should remain associated with the Idea and display in tools used and be available in all tools list. The Tool used should also remain selectable from Inline Workflow steps.

What solution are you experiencing the issue with?

Innovation Backlog

What solution version are you using?

3.1

What app or flow are you having the issue with?

Innovation Backlog

What method are you using to get inventory and telemetry?

None

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Add a new idea
  2. Add a new Tool used (including icon image)
  3. Save the new tool
  4. Complete an Inline Workflow with a step using the new tool used
  5. Complete the idea
  6. Refresh the Browser or relaunch the app
  7. New Tool used no longer shows

Anything else?

I have been testing the Innovation backlog in its own dedicated production environment where I have experienced this repeatable issue. However, I also have it deployed to my main CoE environment where the Issue is also present.

The backlog item Toolset Table does have a row for the new Tool that was added image

Hello,

thanks for reporting this! We have a larger rework of the Innovation Backlog planned to update the UX to Fluent UI guidelines and using the Creator Kit (similar to the work we've done for other CoE kit apps recently), as well as refresh some of the functionality and usability of that app.

This work is planned for the next few months, so we're likely unable to fix the bug you raised and instead will make sure this works in the new version.

Thank you Manuela
