total number of flow not match in power admin view and power admin center #8242

What is your question?

Hi Github support,

the total number of flow and total app report show in power platform admin view and power platform admin center did not match. In power admin view -> default environment -> total number of flow is 247, however in power admin center -> analytics -> power automate, it show total flows is 3155. i exported the data in excel, it show 3155 flow. it did not make sense that the power admin view just show 247 total flows.

I'm confused for both report did not match the number. Could you please explain why the total flow between 2 platform did not match?

Is the admin view provide only COE data and admin center provide tenant data?

Please advice.

Can you please confirm that the user identity installing and running the flow has the Power Platform Admin Role assigned both directly and permanently? Microsoft Azure Users > Your User > Assigned Roles Ensure Power Platform Administrator is Direct and Permanent image

Yes the user is assigned to power admin role . powerplatformadmin

Sure

  1. Go to https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/environments
  2. Select Default Environment
  3. Settings image
  4. From Users + Permissions, select Users image
  5. Find your user and select their name to bring up their properties. There you will see their Security Roles image

Here is the screenshot - the user has "Environment Maker, Project user, System administrator and Common Data service user" role assigned. security role

Find a repro

You will need to find a repro of this in your tenant to see what is going wrong.

  1. Find an environment in your tenant where you expect to see the object (ex this app missing, that chatbot missing, etc)

  2. Go to the Power Platform Admin view app and find that environment. Open the record, edit some field, and save Note you will want to change back so be aware of the change. image

  3. This will trigger all the object flows to run for that environment. Find the flow for your object of interest and open it to details page. Ex: if you are looking for missing canvas apps chose Admin | Sync Template v4 (Apps), if you are looking for missing Model Driven Apps chose Admin | Sync Template v4 (Model Driven Apps), etc image

  4. Click on the timestamp of run in progress (or the one that just finished) to see the run itself. image

  5. For Flows, please see, are the missing flows returned here? image

Both flow are not turn on, should I turn it on? If yes, is there any impact for user or business? PLease advice

OK that means you are not collecting inventory. What version of Core do you have installed?

OK please walk through the setup wizard, it will make sure all the correct flows are turned on

Use the setup wizard

Its highly recommended that you use the Setup Wizard to walk you through setup and upgrades. It will ensure all the new flows are turned on in the correct order, trigger things like population of the bookmarks screen and do other cleanup steps needed. You should do this both for upgrades and clean installs. To use it, first perform the import of the solution install or upgrade manually, then boot the app and walk through the screens. image image

For this case, please do not close 1st, the flows now enabled and next run will be this Sunday. Let’s see next week whether the number of flow/app is match or not in PP admin center and PP admin view.

HI Jenefer,

The setup has been run and the all necessary flow turn on. However, the number of the app and flow (default environment) still not match between PP admin center -Analytics -> total flows and PP admin view - refer screenshot below: I've exported it the excel file and do a comparison, is not matched at all.

Power automate total number: PowerAutomateFlow Power Apps total number: powerapps

Appreciate you advice.

Those numbers in the admin center do not appear to be the tenant count. I'm not sure what they represent, but it appears the count in the CoE is the correct one from my testing in my test tenant. I also see a small number in my admin center. Perhaps its about apps/flows that in in use since the rest of the screen is about usage. I suggest you reach out to product support to give them this feedback and I will also do so locally.
