Which technology to choose: office-ui-fabric-react vs fluent-ui-react #2354

We've been using office-ui-fabric-react for the last 2 years, and its been great. But, now with the fluent-ui-react project, this seems an amazing alternative.

We are now starting a new UI from scratch, and we are evaluating the technology to use. Would it be possible to clarify the following questions?

  1. Is fluent-ui-react an experiment project, or is it the next evolution for office-ui-fabric-react and will replace it the future?
  2. Will both technologies be supported in the future? And if so, what are the differences between them?
  3. Is is safe to start now a project with fluent-ui-react?
  4. All in all, given the status of both technologies, what would you suggest to use?

Thank you!

These two projects are merging. It is certainly confusing; sorry about that.

We will be announcing details shortly. If you’re starting a production app, use fabric. The project is a major stable release with fluent design by default.

This codebase will become our v0 prerelease and will merge in with the fabric project shortly, combining our efforts under one umbrella.
