SQL Server Packages for Ubuntu 24.04 #132

Hi!

I've scoured the packages lists for ubuntu 24.04, but nowhere can I find msodbcsql and friends. Is it not yet built?

mbearup commented 4 months ago

@Atleago thanks for raising this question. This github repo is primarily concerned with the packages.microsoft.com infrastructure (availability, performance, etc), as we do not directly manage the repo contents/packages. I've relayed your question to the MSSQL team, and will let them respond.

@Atleago it's not built, yet. We generally add support for new OS versions at our next regularly scheduled GA ODBC driver release. That may be as soon as July 31. Watch for the release announcement on the SQL Server Blog.

Regards, David

If you are really eager to try msodbcsql on Ubuntu 24.04, use the packages that were in the earlier versions' repos, e.g. 20.04 or 22.04 (which are actually the same file). They are generally backwards-compatible, so do let us know if you give that a try and it doesn't work.
