[BUG]: Power Apps importing issue #140

Open LB-PM-VS opened 4 years ago

LB-PM-VS commented 4 years ago

Following all the steps in "https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/sample-crisis-communication-app". Reaching steps: "Import the app Sign in to Power Apps. Select Apps from the left navigation. Select Import from the command bar. Upload the CrisisCommunication.zip file from the GitHub repository:" I experienced no issues until reaching "Complete the Import Setup for Microsoft Teams Connection and Office 365 Users Connection by selecting the appropriate connections using Select during import hyperlink. You may have to create new connection if it already doesn't exist."

I created a new connection to SharePoint, went back to the page, hit "Refresh" and nothing appears. I cannot link anything because nothing shows up. I tried deleting the Connection, reconnecting, reuploading the file. Nadda. It's like the "Refresh" button is broke.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to https://make.powerapps.com/environments/Default-08011c35-3e20-4cfb-9098-9504336812c8/apps
  2. Click on "import canvas app"
  3. Upload CrisisCommunication.zip
  4. Once file imports: click "Select during import"
  5. nothing there, choose "Create new"
  6. Opens new tab: https://make.powerapps.com/environments/Default-08011c35-3e20-4cfb-9098-9504336812c8/connections
  7. Add Sharepoint
  8. Go back to https://make.powerapps.com/environments/Default-08011c35-3e20-4cfb-9098-9504336812c8/apps/import
  9. Click "Refresh"
  10. ERROR OCCURS - nothing populates (it acts like "refresh" button is broken)

Expected behavior

  1. The Connection appears as an item.
  2. Choose item, Click "Save"
  3. Repeat Steps 4-10 till all "Select during import" (3 total) are connected

Hi @LB-PM-VS, A connection to SharePoint is not needed during the Import experience.

These are the ones you need:

The steps are like what you had done to connect SharePoint.

Can you let me know once you've added the corresponding connections?

LB-PM-VS commented 4 years ago

NOW I understand! The video and instructions only said "connect these" but I wasn't putting 2 and 2 together that the name was what I was connecting to. I was just connecting what it told me to do before. I didn't realize the ratio.

Thank you!!
