[Automation Kit - QUESTION] Unable to see projects #186

Open nbetters opened 1 year ago

nbetters commented 1 year ago

What is your question?

When Automation Project Admins try to view existing projects in the powerapp portal nothing appears and the option to submit projects is also grayed out.

I went ahead and assigned the user, all of these roles and they still see nothing

What is the proper role for:

What component is the question related to?

Automation Project

What solution version are you using?

No response

What app or flow are you having the issue with?

No response

AB#495

Could you please update me on which version you are using. have you upgraded to latest version?

Can you please verify have you upgraded pcf components / creator kit?

As per my knowledge, earlier you are able to create new automaton projects without any issue.

latest version and yes we have creator kit, this is something to do with security roles, anyone that is system admin can see all the projects but no other security role (that I can figure out) seems to help. Would be fantastic if Microsoft had a guide of what each of the system security roles actually did. Then I could identify what specific role is broken.

can we connect once to verify the issue. pls ping me kmarram@microsoft.com in Teams to connect

As per design, Automation kit will not modify any existing roles to view Automation project records. And also the role 'Automation project Admin ' will have access to all apps in main solution. if you want to provide access to Automation project App, Assign 'Automation project Admin' role and 'system admin' role to respective users.

Alternately you can create a separate role instead of system admin role, which will have access to data verse and all connectors like office365.

find the below url for more information on security roles creation and assignment. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/create-edit-security-role

can you please ping me kmarram@microsoft.com in Teams to connect for further analysis.

As per design, "Submit project" button will be disabled. This button will be enabled, when we have selected or highlighted (a cheek box will be appeared before Project name column) Saved status project record. so that you can submit the project for saved project.
