lock execution thread before exiting #935

We have a race with the esc button where the program starts the motors while we are exiting .

@mmoskal @pelikhan Is this due to blocking motors? Is this change in beta? I can't seem to see, there are only 399 lines of code available through the linux.cpp editor.
