I pushed a commit to address the PR feedback. The remote branch shows that the push succeeded (users/lgolding/rule-metadatasample is 3 commits ahead of master). But, apparently due to this morning's GitHub outage, this PR does not see the new commit. I am going to close this PR and open another one and ask you to approve it.
