PowerPlatform Test Studio Incompatible With Git Versioning Experimental Feature #170

Describe the bug

When trying to create tests in Test Studio for a PowerApp which has the Git Versioning experimental feature turned on, a user is only shown an error message which says "This test didn't save properly, please try again.".

To solve the problem I had to figure out what the issue was by myself and then I had to turn Git Versioning off.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Create a canvas PowerApp and turn the Git Versioning experimental feature on. You should be required to set up a GitHub repo. When the feature has been turned on, changes should be pushed to GitHub. image
  2. Go to test studio on the left panel. image
  3. Write a test case in a test suite and try to publish or play the tests on the top bar. This is where the error will occur and you will be shown a red error bar with this message "This test didn't save properly, please try again.". image

Expected behavior

  1. You should be able to run and publish tests using test studio even when the Git Versioning feature is on.
  2. If this isn't possible right away/while this is being worked on, the user should be shown a more useful error message. Maybe the message could contain a link that could show common reasons for this issue?

Screenshots

Relevant screenshots included to show how to reproduce the issue.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

OS: MacOS Browser: Chrome Version: I am not sure, I am using the version that comes on chrome.

Additional context

I figured out what the issue was by stumbling across this forum. https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/Not-able-to-save-case-in-Test-Studio/td-p/1524054

I noticed that the forum post was raised about a year ago and still hasn't been fixed and I thought it would be useful to raise it again.

I am a student. This post is being raised as UCL feedback. I am working with Olanrewaju Oyinbooke and Lee Stott
