Additional context
python version is 3.12.4
as stated in the OpenStarbound issue, it seems the version of libsystemd(v255) is missing a couple of patches they can be found in this mailing list https://lore.kernel.org/buildroot/20240606104813.1514-4-jarkko@kernel.org/

@greenozon You cause a lot of noise to my mailbox... This is a duplicate issue. First reported in https://github.com/microsoft/vcpkg/issues/39365, and fixed by https://github.com/microsoft/vcpkg/pull/39741 three weeks ago.
OK, pardon me that sounds like a VP big boss words
I just want to make some help, let me know what are the hot topics that need some time/efforts?
that sounds like a VP big boss words
No idea what this means. But I feel some frustration about several comments which didn't adress the original issue and also did not help to analyze it. (Are you aware that this issue might not appear at all on Ubuntu 22.04, even with libsystemd 255?)
let me know what are the hot topics that need some time/efforts?
The hot topics are no the easy ones.
Don't let us continue this discussion here, it is off-topic. This would have been a good question to ask in the discussions section.
@jimmon89 was asked to update because it is expected to fix the issue. Either the fix is confirmed, or there will be new information. Or the issue goes stale.
@jimmon89 Please update the port version. This issue has been fixed in the latest version.
i'm not sure why i wasn't notified about activity here, i updated vcpkg directly, skipping the arch linux package manager which would seem to be shipping an old version
i'll edit this comment and notify if the issue is indeed fixed with a new version of vcpkg
