Verified that the CG alert is resolved in a CI build of this branch

I'll get this checked in early next week then for 17.7 preview 1 if it isn't strictly necessary then. Just want to avoid anything that could potentially destabilize us before the snap.

You should be able to go ahead and merge this. The main branch now tracks 17.7. If we really wanted a 17.6 fix, there's a new branch for that.
