[BUG] .NET MAUI vscode extension stuck installing indefinitely #1043

Describe the Issue

I tried to use .NET MAUI extension on vscode which was previously working and discovered that it was no longer installed. I tried to install it and it just stayed installing for a long time until I gave up. I tried deleting the entire ~/.vscode folder while vscode was closed and then trying to install the extension but had the same problem. I tried uninstalling vscode and deleting the encire ~/.vscode folder then re-installing but had the same problem. I'm all out of ideas here.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Try to install the .NET MAUI vscode extension -> stuck Installing seemingly forever (have waited > 30 minutes)

Expected Behavior

Can install the .NET MAUI vscode extension

Environment Information

I managed to fix this by deleting the contents of ~/.config/Code
