Closed gbrault closed 8 months ago

Type: Bug

The terminal starts incorrectly. For Python 3.11.5 and PS 7.4.0.

The launch of a new terminal does not happen from time to time (required to reboot VSCODE). Sometimes there is a message saying that you need to reconnect the host. recent phenomenon.

============================== some more things ==================================== I use a virtual env named venv with regular pyth: python -m venv venv

It seems, when the terminal wants to work, that setting the venv manually improves (for further terminals opening during the same session) . Something like: venv/scripts/activate.ps1. Not sure however!

@karrtikr : I still have this issue. Is it known or just my personal case? Do you need something else to move foreward? Do you have a work arround to overcome it?

karrtikr commented 9 months ago

Hi @gbrault thanks for the bug report! Note we investigate issues in order based on priority and severity, which includes the impact it has on your ability to use the extension to do productive work, and the number of people affected. If other users come forward and leave a comment demonstrating they are seeing/reproducing the problem then we will raise this issue's priority. Thanks for understanding and the patience!

Meanwhile, try a couple of things:

  1. Add the following to your user settings and reload window:
    "python.experiments.optInto": [
    "pythonTerminalEnvVarActivation"
    ],
  2. Please provide the debug logs which can help diagnose the issue:
Output for Python in the Output panel (ViewOutput, change the drop-down the upper-right of the Output panel to Python)

Because we have not heard back with the information we requested, we are closing this issue for now. If you are able to provide the info later on, then we will be happy to re-open this issue to pick up where we left off.

Happy Coding!
