Stuck on "Installing VS Code server on <job_name> Retry - <number>" when clicking vscode link (under monitor and debug) for a AML/Singularity job. #2360

Expected Behavior

Clicking on vscode link on job page should open a vscode window connected to the job's compute instance.

Actual Behavior

Fails with error: "Maximum retries exhausted. Could not install VS Code server on nice_potato_sbt46m01zz: The VS Code server failed to start"

Steps to Reproduce the Problem

  1. Start custom job with Singularity portal, enabling VSCode in the compute page

  2. When job is running, click on the vscode link under "monitor and debug" pane

  3. image

  4. Install required extensions
