4 years ago I'm also not able to reproduce in a WSL window.
Can you give an example of the text you paste? You paste this in the VSCode file explorer, for the name of the new file, right?

}When I pasted it again, it only froze for some time and then responded again. Maybe the permanent freeze happens only under certain unkown circumstances and is hard to reproduce.

4 years ago I tried on two machines, one quite old, but was not able to see any freeze when pasting the content above into a file name.
Steps to Reproduce:
Then VS Code freezes up and the current windows has to be reopened.
Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes/No Yes
