I'm experiencing the same issue using my MSFT Outlook email account and MacBook Air M1. You would think that they would make sure that it worked with their own property?

nutnutwin commented 3 years ago

https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/114265 seems it happened before at the beginning of the year.

Since it is reproducible not just on my own PC, I believe it would be fixed soon(hopefully

I have the same issue with both my work account on a laptop and my personal account on a PC.

TechFounder commented 3 years ago

It seems the issue has now been resolved. When I opened my VS Code yesterday, it asked me to log in to my Outlook account and it's started syncing once again. I hope all of you are experiencing the same thing. If so we can close this ticket. If not, try to re-log into your Outlook account.

nutnutwin commented 3 years ago

I clicked "Sign in" and MS Account, and successfully logged in. If I click the current "xxxx@outlook.com", it still fails

TechFounder commented 3 years ago

That's because it needed to establish a new log in as the old one is broken. The fact of the matter is that it's now working as you just confirmed with your new log in.

nutnutwin commented 3 years ago

great. Thanks a lot

nutnutwin commented 3 years ago

@sandy081 if you don't mind, I would like to close the issue. Thank you

TheAutisticTechie commented 3 years ago

Was the update process the root cause of the issue? Should keep the issue open until the problem is resolved in a PR, the update process should be smoother like previous updates were

I'm seeing authentication sync issues crop up again on one of my Macs. It looks like this issue is not fixed permanently yet.

/duplicate #130314

in that issue I added some extra questions for you all to help me get to the bottom of this. Can you comment over there? Thanks!
