Structural diff that understands syntax #160259

Diff that "understands" code and highlights relevant code changes and hides "formatting" like changes might be a great win for developers. Is that something that could be integrated in the standard diff?

@hediet Has done the improvements on the 3 way merge maybe he can look into it /shrug
