Thanks for creating this issue! It looks like you may be using an old version of VS Code, the latest stable release is 1.73.0. Please try upgrading to the latest version and checking whether this issue remains.

I had the same problem. Darwin 21.6.0 arm64. Immediately after opening a small typescript project, my MacBook temperature instantly rises to 80 degrees.

There are 2 code helper processes in monitorcontrol, one of which takes 100% of the cpu even after exiting vscode completely.

The problem is solved after disabling the eslint plugin, but it is impossible to work without it

Does this reproduce in the latest VS Code insiders build with all extensions disabled?
