Can we explore more UI areas to show recommendations. For example suggest widget status bar.
This is interesting for developers. If you ignore the first language extension prompt, there are few other ways to discover the extension. In user testing those users got frustrated about autocompletion and lack of hovers; which are UI elements that could actually tell them about the missing extension.
Popular extensions view is too prominent. Do we need to show this view? Could it be collapsed by default (so Recommended view gets more space)?
@joaomoreno and @sandy081 brought up the same point as UX follow up for the recommendation system. Especially as Popular list got too noisy with popular extension packages/dependencies. Maybe we can already start making it smaller?
We closed this issue because we don't plan to address it in the foreseeable future. If you disagree and feel that this issue is crucial: we are happy to listen and to reconsider.
