Overlapping text on startup screen. This is persistent even when used with --disable-gpu flag.

Make sure your modified code.desktop file is at ~/.local/share/applications/ and launch the VSCode using modified code.desktop file since it might take sometime to reflect the change in dash.

@abbasmashaddy72 are you seeing the issue for the Settings editor table of contents, the startup screen, or both?

Also, as a sanity check, make sure to fully close all instances of VS Code before reopening it with that flag.

This affects me as well. I'm running into the same problem with both searches in settings and on the startup screen.

This happens for me as well. Just FYI, I'm having the same issue with 2 other Electron based apps as well on my laptop: Mattermost and Spotify.

Can confirm that also in vscode in edge, and some web app like bing chat in edge, but it works fine in firefox. I guess its not vscode specific, as @sesota points out that it happens also in electron, also at vscode, edge, and chrome. Those four uses chromium so i guess it is chromium related bug, because it is not happening on firefox
