the horizontal scroll wheel keeps jumping around when I try to select things or click on the page

Could you please share a screen recording demonstrating the problem? I don't see the horizontal scrollbar jumping around when selecting code.

Hey Alexandru, I just noticed that the issue with the selection is that I move my cursor a-bit up while selecting, and that causes it to go back and select the previous line.

but the issue with clicking after selecting can be seen in the gif below:
