Extra Path Output prints in terminal

Type: Bug

When debugging a python file, the environment activation code/debug run script appear in the terminal "& 'C:\Users\" etc. As of a recent update, now the path prints again like this in the terminal buffer: "C:\x5cUsers\x5c" etc.

This closed issue pointed me to a workaround of adding "terminal.integrated.shellIntegration.enabled": false to my settings.json which fixed the issue.

This issue seems to originate from an upstream component and is not something VSCode can fix by making a change to our code. As such, I will go ahead and close it. Please try to reproduce in Windows Terminal and report to microsoft/terminal with repro steps.

If you cannot reproduce in Windows Terminal, chances are it's fixed in a later version of Windows. You can read more about how we consume conpty here. Thanks for understanding.

I have exactly the same problem! I have no idea how to fix this. it appeared just like that, although everything was fine before. Tell me, have you already corrected this error? if yes, how?

This does look exactly like #214386 to me though. Looks like it's not an upstream terminal issue. Try disabling terminal.integrated.shellIntegration ☺️
