duplicate of https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/212494?
Can you share the crash report following the steps at https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/wiki/Native-Crash-Issues#creating-a-crash-report, thanks!
@deepak1556 here is the crashdump requested: VSCode-1.90.0-crashdump.zip
hmm crash logs point to the same issue as https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/212494, please try launching with --use-gl=angle --use-angle=swiftshader
and confirm if the issue persists.
Yeah it still happens. But I get these warnings about those flags:
$ code --use-gl=angle --use-angle=swiftshader
Warning: 'use-gl' is not in the list of known options, but still passed to Electron/Chromium.
Warning: 'use-angle' is not in the list of known options, but still passed to Electron/Chromium.
I'm using Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS.
Can you test with our insiders snap install code-insiders --classic
Same behaviour, warnings about the flags and crashes after holding mouse over a link of the Release Notes for a few seconds.
As pointed by some users at #212494, running with --in-process-gpu
seems to solve the problem (for both 1.90 and 1.91), although I got the same warning saying that the flag is not in the list of known options.
Can you share the crash logs from code-insiders, thanks!
@deepak1556 here is the crash dumps from code-insiders: code-insiders-crashdump.zip
The crash dumps still point to https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/212494, puzzling that the software gl doesn't work in your case. Can you share a screen recording of the steps you are performing, make sure to close all running instances of the application before recording. Thanks!

Just to emphasize, there was no click before the crash, I was just holding the cursor over the link.
Thanks for the recording, can you launch with code-insiders --verbose
and share the output after the crash.

1, 2, 3. Crashed on startup, like #212494
P.S.: for tests 2, 3 and 4, still got the warning complaining about the flag being unknown.
Thanks for the results, that is helpful.
@deepak1556 I just updated VSCode for the last version (v1.90.2) and the problem isn't happening anymore, so I'm closing this issue.
Type: Bug
After update of VSCode to version 1.90.0, holding the mouse on some links cause VSCode to crash. One example of this that is ALWAYS crashing for me is by holding the mouse on the "Editor tabs multi-select" link at the top of the version 1.90 Release Notes for a few seconds (5-10 seconds).
