Multiple Errors #230198

Open AGoh2019 opened 1 day ago

AGoh2019 commented 1 day ago

Type: Bug

While trying to run a Python file. This is what I can't do - run a interactive Python session inside VS Code

And these are some of the error messages that prop up while using the same Python File -

I am facing problems with both the Python and the Java extension.

I have three Python compilers installed - Python 3.12, Python for Spyder 6 and Python for MySQL. Not sure if VS Code is confused by it. As for Java, I use the Microsoft OpenJDK 21 LTS.

PLEASE FIX THE PROBLEMS AND STOP TELLING ME TO FIGURE IT UP BY MYSELF.

VS Code version: Code 1.93.1 (38c31bc77e0dd6ae88a4e9cc93428cc27a56ba40, 2024-09-11T17:20:05.685Z) OS version: Windows_NT x64 10.0.22631 Modes:

You have installed nearly sixty extensions. Probably one of them is malfunctioning. Maybe more.

I suggest you create a new Profile and in it install the absolute minimum set of extensions needed for one language you want to code in. Then follow the VS Code "getting started" documentation for that language.

Alternatively seek personal support, but expect to pay for that.

May I suggest you check all 60 extensions I installed on my previous installation of VS code to save others the problems that I had encountered. Thanks and Regards, --- Andrew Goh

I don't think that's a reasonable request. It's not how the VS Code extensions ecosystem works.

Don't you people do any kind of post mortem on the extensions that are produced.  Well, this is my installed extensions for Python -

Just tell me which is needed and what is frivolous.

With respect, that's your responsibility. I suggest you start by disabling them all. Then enable only the one(s) from Microsoft that are essential for Python, since that's apparently the language you are coding in. Use the Getting Started guide or the Walkthrough for Python. Start simple.
