Selecting/hightlighting text with the mouse in a file in VS code, works from left to right, but right to left it doesn't select

When I try to hightlight text, it's working as usual, when my mouse starts from left moving right, but the other way around, doesn't highlight the text.

I can include a GIF showing that.

EDIT: I was able to track down what's causing it, it's the 'Screen reader optimization' setting in VS code. When setting it to off or auto, the problem stops, and I can highlight normally. Setting it to 'on' causes the issue to happen again.

This happens also when I select all (Ctl+A), I think the editor selects all, but it appears as nothing is selected.

Also, highlighting from left to right, more than 20 lines, causes the highlight to cut in half, and only 10 rows are highlighted, and there's no way to get around it. I tried to disabled copilot, thinking maybe that's the root cause, but it's still showing the same issues, even with copilot disabled.
