Update installation issues

Issue Type: Bug

1. open vs code

2. see icon requesting to update vs code

3. vs code closes never reopens. Open vs code and repeat. I've been having this issue since the May installation on this device, so I'm not sure if it's the OS issues from my company or the app itself.

Can you completely reinstall VS Code and see if the issue keeps happening on the upcoming releases?

I have twice with the same issue, both through the site and through homebrew
