Windows (GUIs) not showing up, but no error messages given #1206

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start a graphical application - e.g., xeyes from the Ubuntu terminal.

WSL logs:

pulseaudio.log weston.log stderr.log

WSL dumps:

No response

Expected behavior:

A visible windows/GUI appearing.

Actual behavior:

No windows is visible. It looks to the terminal as if everything is fine, but there is no window to be seen anywhere. True regardless of which GUI started. Note that my $DISPLAY is correctly set to :0

I've observed something similar when I've hibernated/woken - where the wslg-using apps are still running, but the windows are not visible until you start up another wslg app. So result is you can try to (re-)launch an app, and the system shows you nothing.
