Using @microsoft/mgt
is probably not the right approach here as it loops in so many other packages.
I was able to make it work with the following setup:
npm i @microsoft/mgt-components @microsoft/mgt-msal2-provider @microsoft/mgt-react
I also needed to force "client" mode in nextjs as MGT is not valid with SSR.
'use client';
import Image from 'next/image'
import { Providers } from "@microsoft/mgt-element";
import { Msal2Provider } from "@microsoft/mgt-msal2-provider";
import { Login, ThemeToggle } from '@microsoft/mgt-react';
Providers.globalProvider = new Msal2Provider({
clientId: '228fcaa6-c845-40be-913a-e4489ba7cb17'
});
export default function Home() {
return (

The following error is produced when running a dev instance of a nextjs application and trying to import @microsoft/mgt-element
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
create a nextjs application "npx create-next-app app_name"
cd app_name
npm install @microsoft/mgt
modify index.js to the following:
import * as React from "react"; import { GetServerSideProps } from "next"; import { getSession } from "next-auth/react"; import { Session } from "next-auth"; import { SessionNextAuthExtendProps } from "@/interfaces/common"; import { Providers } from "@microsoft/mgt-element"; import { Msal2Provider } from "@microsoft/mgt-msal2-provider";
Providers.globalProvider = new Msal2Provider({ clientId: 'my client id' });
const Home = () => { return <></>; };
Expected behavior When this is done in pure reactjs it works perfectly it should function the similarly in nextjs
Environment (please complete the following information):
OS: Windows11 Browser: Chrome, Edge, Firefox Framework: nextjs
