version 5.9.3 issue #314

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. working config adalight hardware. 50 lights with prismatik 5.9.1
2. download and install prismatik 5.9.3
3. (restarted pc to be sure)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected was to refunction as it did before.
Instead: lights didn't respond on desktop. no wallpaper lighting or
popups/windows..
I started a movie and the lights worked again. But when the should change from
color; They change thru the whole colorspectrum instead from 1 color to the
other.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
version 5.9.3 on Windows 8 64bit and on Windows 7 64bit. On my Win7 machine I
got a 25 lights setup and got the exact same problems

Please provide any additional information below.

I reinstalled the 'old' Prismatik 5.9.3 but it kept the settings from the
5.9.4 (luminousity settings) and now 5.9.3 Prismatik flips aswell (on 0
and any other setting)
So i think it has something to do with it

Hello,
I have the same problems with Prismatik 5.9.3 and 5.9.4:

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Prismatik 5.9.4 on MacOSX 10.8.3

Please provide any additional information below.
Lightpack 5.8.6 works quite well with my Adalight setup.

Prismatik 5.9.3 can connect to the device but produces strange 'rainbow' color
effects as already mentioned by Ronnie. I have experimented a lot with the
available parameters, but none of the settings solves the problem.

Prismatik 5.9.4 is not able to connect to the device at all. The log file
contains reoccurring entries of 'void
SettingsWindow::ledDeviceCallSuccess(bool) Backlight::StatusDeviceError'.

Cheers,
Philip

guys, 5.9.5 is released, did you try it?

Original comment by tim.hell...@gmail.com on 6 Apr 2013 at 7:54

Thanks for the notice, it slipped my mind.

I downloaded it a half hour ago and after a reboot my Adalight setup and my
Prismatik where friends again.

But until I tried the lights, its another rainbow fest:

Yes, I tried 5.9.5. The connection problem is fixed. Thanks a lot!
But, I still have the strange 'rainbow'/flashing colors effect. Even when I set
the mode to mood lamp with automatic color change, the color transitions are
completely crazy (LEDs are flickering and flashing in wrong colors). With
Lightpack 5.8.6 color transitions are absolutely smooth.
Attached you find a log file recorded at the maximal debug level.

Hmm, my attachment storage quota exceeded :-(.

I am trying to describe exactly the same effect shown by Ronnie's youtube clip.

This has even fixed it for me in XBMC - for several versions there just has
been no lightpack response with XBMC. Now? Flawless.

I spoke too soon, it briefly works. Colours etc are all fine. But then it
flashes at a very very fast rate on, off, on, off etc. Changing the dead zone
settings changes the rate of flashing from fast to very fast to extremely fast!.

Nearly there! :)

guy.leonard:
i've created an issue: https://code.google.com/p/lightpack/issues/detail?id=318
please post further details there.
it would be good to see demo, cause i have no idea what is wrong and some demo
could help me.

vdoorn.r:
Thanks for your demo, which was really helpful. Could you please limit access
to the video? We just want to avoid misrepresentation: the video doesn't
contain details or history so some could misunderstood it, at the same time
every issue and source code change are available for everyone.

Thanks again for your effort, guys.
