On a clean Ubuntu 10.10 install, Midgard MVC installation fails with:

[pakeException]                                       
Problem executing command                             
/tmp/pear/cache does not exist or is not a directory

that's PEAR's error, not installers. Should go away after the switch to Pyrus.
