Are you getting any warnings on the terminal? What's the icon theme?

veyselerden commented 5 years ago

It's actually because of snap package of Midori doesn't support the new Yaru theme.

kalikiana commented 5 years ago

How is that possible? The snap doesn't contain Yaru so it should fallback to Adwaita. I have Yaru from ppa:communitheme/ubuntu/ppa here and it's just ignored.

I had the same issue on Ubuntu 18.10. I reinstalled via snap and I noticed update-mime-database was running during the launch and then the icons showed up properly. I can't repro this anymore. It could be possible that the very first launch hanged up due an external reason and thus the mime-database update was never completed - does this even make sense?

I faced with that problem when install midori in first time. Reinstalled via snap fixed this issue

Still facing the issue, reinstalled via snap and still same

sudo snap remove midori
sudo snap install midori
