Selecting/deleting blocks of one type (such as Hangar Doors) #161

I did not see this here already, so I will ask. I have a ship that consists of over 23 thousand blocks, I want to get rid of every block except the armor, but I do not see a way to do this without selecting and deleting every block individually, this would obviously take a very long time. So, as the title says, is it possible to "highlight" a certain type of block, and delete them all at once? Thanks

You can filter for particular blocks by name, and multi select blocks before deleting. image

Ok, how does the multi select work? I have tried to do this a few different ways, but I have not found it so far. I feel like I am missing something obvious here, but I also have very limited experience with applications such as these. Thanks again!

Like most windows applications, you can multi select items in lists like files in windows explorer. There are two methods.

  1. Selecting a group. click on the first item in the group. hold down Shift, and continue to hold it down while selecting the last item in the group. You should then have a group. Release shift.

  2. Selecting individual items. click on the first item to select it. hold down Control. then click on the second item, then the third item, and it will highlight those. The items do not have to be next to one another in the list, and can be anywhere on the list. You can click on an item you have already selected to unselect it if you have made a mistake. Release Control when you have finished selecting the items.

Enter a block type name in the filter. ie., "Hanger" (without the quotes) and press enter. In the list, press Ctrl A. This will highlight all blocks in the visible list. Then pressed "Delete". Those blocks will be removed.

The repeat for other block types.
