Meeting details: February 20th @ 2pm

  1. Spiral 2 presentation
  2. Process flow of App - Futuristic features
  3. Heart rate check and vitals

Yvonne and Mike will work on Spiral 2 for presentation. This will be done by Monday February 25th. Saddaf sent Mike and Yvonne S4 assignment which had process flow and also Peak flow meter readings and Spirometer readings which will be used to assess Asthmatic patients speed of airflow and quality of inhalation and exhalation. These readings need to be configured into the app with a traffic light system. Mild severity of readings = green Medium severity of readings = amber and Severe severity of symptoms = red

Saddaf also sent 2 guiding documents that are provided to physicians for managing pediatric patients witha asthma. 'Emergency Department Asthma Care pathways' and 'Managing the Acute Pedicatric Asthmatic patient with Acute Asthma Exacerbation'. These documents suggested that patients vitals be assessed prior to starting treatment of Asthmatic patients. Heart rate should be measured at baseline. If beats at or above 200bpm this will determine how severe the symptoms are and emergency treatment neededs asap for such cases.

Another important finding from these references was that a person's speech is impacted by the severity of Asthma symptoms and speech can also be used for assessing severity of Asthma. Patients with severe Asthma will be unable to speak, Moderate Asthma will be able to speak using words and mild Asthma will speak using phrases.

Saddaf spoke with pharmacist who indicated that each Ventolin inhaler has 200 puffs. On average patients take about 8 puffs per day and will run out of the inhaler within 25 days.

Tasks (by Tuesday February 26th, 2019)

  1. Saddaf will speak with Physicians to see if it is absolutely necessary to get Heart rate checked in assessments even though guidelines suggesting it is. Saddaf will speak with other Health care providers.

  2. Mike and Yvonne will prepare spiral 2 presentation
